Objective

I want to make a difference in developing a balanced approach to the development of Sandoval County, one that embraces new citizens as well as protecting the investments of the existing citizens. My management style is one that empowers people and measures results to determine success. I am a quality mentor, team builder, and human resource developer.

Work Related

Director Special Projects

Helped establish the Department of Information Technology. Worked on Encanto Supercomputing Project, Universal Back Up and Hot Site Project for New Mexico State Goverment. Received funding for a host of smaller research projects.  Department of Information Technology 2006 to 2010.

Director Information Systems Division

Championed the $ 25 million SHARE project to replace the 20 year old legacy statewide Human Resource, Payroll and Accounting systems. Reorganized the Information Systems Division in two separate divisions, as prescribed in state statutes, to address information and communications needs separately.  Modernized enterprise systems to reduce footprint and make room for the consolidation of agency server environments. General Services Department 2003 to 2006.

Administrative Systems Bureau Chief

Increased technology certified staff by 75% through training and college classes. Reduced fiscal year budget for contractual services by just under $ .5 million. Championed $4 million Legislative initiative to install modern administrative systems, which have a projected return on investment of less than 18 months. NM Highway and Transportation 2000-2003

Network Manager

Increased technology certified staff by 80% through training/college classes. Managed 100-location private communication network, which included voice, video and data, in coordination with General Services Department, Office of Communications. Championed $2.5 million Legislative initiative to replace communications systems, which have a projected return on investment of less than 3 years. NM Highway and Transportation 1997-2000

Technical Support Manager

Established Help Desk support for the Department statewide enterprise. Managed Telephone, Local Area Network, Internet and Microcomputer Support. NM Highway and Transportation 1988-1997

Information Center Manager

Managed microcomputer and office automation support. Developed standards for local area network. Was co-procurement manager on first statewide office technology Request for Proposals to establish preferred vendor price agreements for Information Systems equipment and services. NM Highway and Transportation 1987-1988

Community Involvement

Coaching: Former Rio Rancho Girls and Boys Club, Former Rio Rancho Youth Soccer League, Former McCurdy Elementary School elementary girls basketball, Former Espanola Valley Girls Softball League.
